84th National Book Week Celebration

The John Lawrence Detwiler Memorial Library in Partnership with the Library and Information Science Department and Centro Escolar University Celebrated 84th National Book Week this 2018. The objective of this celebration is: First, to implant in the young Filipino learners the love for books; Second, develop among the students essential reading and literacy skills; and the last, to promote library in University Community.

The highlights of this celebration after the ribbon cutting are: Seminar, Variety of Games, Story Telling, Book Exhibits, Awarding, and Amnesty week. The seminar was hosted by the JLDM Library with the coordination of AUP-LIS and CEU-MLIS.

The speaker was the well-known speaker in librarianship, Dr. Diljit Singh (a professor of University of Malaya). Variety of games was facilitated by JLDM Librarians and participated by the students and faculty.

Story telling rendered by the LIS students and benefited by the pupils from AUP Elementary.

Awarding was given to the individuals and departments who top notched in borrowing library resources. Amnesty Week was initiated to give mercy to the library community on the overdue materials and if they returned it on this week. The fines will be waived.
