Pasay City — September 11, 2024. Selected faculty members of the Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP), along with a librarian from the John Lawrence Detwiler Memorial (JLDM) Library, actively participated in the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) 2024 at the SMX Convention Center.
Recognized as the Philippines’ longest-running and largest book fair, MIBF continues to be a hub for educators and librarians who seek to enrich their institutions with quality professional resources (manilabookfair.com). The AUP delegation explored a wide range of professional books and reference materials — including those in education, research, leadership, and specialized disciplines — ensuring that students and faculty have access to updated and relevant resources that directly support their academic growth.
For the AUP attendees, the experience went beyond browsing shelves. They engaged with publishers, educational suppliers, and exhibitors, discovering new titles and tools that strengthen both teaching and research. With over 200 local and international exhibitors present, ranging from university presses to professional book distributors, the event allowed the AUP team to identify valuable additions to the University’s growing library collections (spot.ph).
By participating in MIBF 2024, AUP reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing faith-based learning through access to professional literature that equips both faculty and students for excellence in teaching, research, and service.
