Summary Note520 _aThe study determines the effects of religious small group membership to the spiritual empowerment of students in Adventist University of the Philippines. This study used the expo facto research design. A self-administered, validated questionnaire was used as research instrument. Data were analyzed using percentages, frequencies, mean and standard deviation and also T-test.The respondents of the study were members of religious small groups that have been members for at least a year. There were also non-members who were studying in the university for at least a year and with no affiliation to any groups in the university.The questionnaire have 5 group of questions that measured the spiritual empowerment level of respondents through their positive thinking, appreciation and concern for nature, sense of responsibility, respect and sympathy for others and beliefs in God's existence and teachings. For positive thinking, respondents got the mean of 3.60 which can be interpreted as empowered. Respondents scored a mean of 3.40 for appreciation and concern for nature which is interpreted as fairly empowered. Respondents got the mean of 3.89. finally, for belief in God's existence and teachings, respondents are also empowered with the mean of 4.33.Results showed that overall, res520pondents are empowered (mean=3.8380) which means respondents already possess As for the factors of gender and residency, results showed that off-campus members are still more spiritually empowered that off-campus non-members (sig=.000). same is true to the in-campus members and non-members. The difference in the level of spiritual empowerment of female members also yielded significant results favoring the female members (sig=.000). Same is true to male members and nonempowerment within themselves. However, members have higher mean (.30849) compared to non-members (.27040). this difference proved to be significant (.000) which means that members of religious small groups are more spiritually empowered compared to those who are non members.
