That another research be done involving other elements of fiction, other research in other areas of Pangasinense and other literacy genres like poetry, folk songs, and short stories.
Summary Note520 _awill be used in analyzing the characters, dialogue, and themes of the selected tales. Pangasinense characteristics were reflected in the tales. These characteristics disclose the value of Pangasinense as a group of People. There are thirteen Pangasinense traits evident in the selected tales of EmmanuelS. Sison. These are matudio(resourceful), managtambal (strong believers in faith healing), mapagalang (respectful), makimey/makuli (industrious/hardworking), managnigosyo (business-minded), amputi layag (brave), marasal (religious), mapangasi (compassionate), maaro (faithful lover) and emosyonal/masinti (emotional/sensitive), anacbanua (social class conscious), chismoso (gossipers), and ponciano (freeloader/ggate crasher). These traits reveal the cultural/traditional values, moral/ehtical values and social values of Pangasinense. Under cultural/traditional values: the following traits fall: matudio (resourceful), managtambal (strong believers in faith healing), mapagalang (respectful), makimey/makuli (industrious/hardworking), managnigosyo (business-minded), amputi layag (social class conscious). Under moral/ethical values: marasal (religious), mapangasi (compassionate), maaro (faithful lover) ang emosyonal/masintin (emotional/sensitive), anacbanua (brave, chimoso (gossipers), and ponciano (freeloader/gate crasher).he represntation of the Pangasinense maybe seen the selected tales of Emmanuel S. Sison. There are distinctive traits of Pangasinense revealed in the selected tales. The traits were presented through the characters,dialogue and theme. Since Pangasinense literature is waning, the researcher highly recommends: That Pangasinense read and write more literary works and not forget the importance of true essence of Philippine Literature-to trace.
Summary Note520 _aLiterature can take many forms, and it can cause stirring in every soul. There is a literacy basis for every subjects; therefore, eliminating literature courses is irrational. Literature is a necessary tool for restoration. We would need to be in tune with the emotional aspects of our lives, and literature is the art of from that allows us to explore our souls. We cannot thrive in a world without literature. It is therefore assumed that since literature is a necessary tool for restoration, the tales presented what a group of people holds closely and dearly-their views, ideas, and traits. Specifically, this study sought to answer the following questions: 1. What Pangasinense traits are evident in the selected tales? 2. How are these traits shown through the elements of fiction such as: a. Characterization? b. Dialogue? c. Theme? 3. What traits depict the Pangasinense in terms of a. Cultural/Traditional values? b. Moral/Ethical values? C. Social Values? The method and procedures used to capture the portrait of the Pangasinense through the selected tales of Emmanuel S. Sison are as follows: 1. Reading and analyzing the selected of Emmanuel S. Sison. This requires knowledge and skills of the materials which are to be read, acquintance with the cultural traits as depicted in the tales, and a great deal of patience and understanding. 2. Classifying the Pangasinense traits as found and enumerated in the preface of Emmanuel S. Sison's books, interviews with profesor Nora T. Pulido and Dr. Querubin Padilla, Pangasinense professors at the Adventist University of the Philippines, and Professor Ma. Crisanta N. Flores, a Pangasinense professor at the University of the Philippines. 3. Quanlitative research which is a combination of methods of research to carry out this study-the descriptive and analytical methods. 4. The descriptive method is to be used to describe the characters, dialogue, and theme to arrive at the contextual meaning of the selected tales of Emmanuel S. Sison. 5. The analytical method of research.
