Summary Note520 _aAdolescence is one of the crucial life stages that later lead to the fromation off one's identify through the incorporation of their own perception and interactions with people outside their selves. Taking that into account, this study aims to provide a meaningful representation of the lives of adolescents with same-sex parents and how they perceived their present situation. The purpose of this research is to help them be understood better and let their struggles come to light as they overcome the adolescence stage. To address the goal of this paper, researchers have utilized the case study method to extract information based on the participant's own point of view. A 15-year old male adolescent parented by both females participated in this study. After an initial interview, three (3) follow-up semi-structured interviews were conducted along with two (2) interview session with one of his parents for triangulation purposes. Data were then transcribed and were paced in a table to be analyzed through an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) method. Furthermore, data were validated through the use of member checking. The results suggested themes concerning the life of an adolescent that is parented by same-sex. These themes are associated with school bullying, high parental control, absence of a father-figure and confusion. Adolescent reported feeling supported and disheartened. Being with friends of same-sex and self-determination were the important influences to the development of gender identity. The strategies used to cope in his unique family structure were found to be diversion and acceptance. These themes were further discussed in this study.
