Summary Note520 _aThe focus of this chapter will be determination of the feasibility and viability of establishing mushroom production in AUP. The findings have been restated, the conclusion has been formulated and the recommendation for the proposed project has been evaluated. Marketing. Sunshine Mushroom offers fresh oyster mushrooms to the target market. The demand is based on the capacity and willingness of the target market to patronize the products of the mushroom business. Based on the tabulated results of the survey questionnaires, 29% of the population is capable and willing to patronize the proposed business. The research shows that the average demand in peso for the next five years starting in 2019 is P4,075,996 while the supply has been computed to be P3,501,607. This leaves an unmet demand of P574,389. An effective marketing plan has been created for successful business performance. Technical. The process of growing mushrooms involves many steps including the production of the mother, subculture and spawn culture, preparation of substrate materials, making and sanitizing of fruiting bags, inoculation, incubation and tending of fruiting bags, harvesting, packaging, and delivery. These processes will occur during the 5-year operation of the business. Organization and Human Resource. Sole proprietorship is the form of organization that the researchers suggest for the proposed mushroom business because of its many advantages including low capital requirements. This form of business organization also allows the owner great control over all the aspects of the business. Business permits and other legal requirements will be taken care of. Strategic management. A section in chapter 4 has been devoted to explain in great detail the proposed business' mission, vision, and objectives. The section also details the proposed business' key result areas (KRA), and performance indicators will be established as benchmarks that the business should strive to attain. Plans and effective strategies have been procured through programs or competent strategic activities. Also, procured for the business are the evaluation procedures that will help determine if objectives are being met. Contingency and exit plans have been created in the unfortunate even that these objectives are not met. Financial. Verifiable and reliable assumptions have been made in the projection of the financial statements for the five-year time frame. The initial investment from the sole proprietor will be P1,172,474. The net income for the first year is P427,750.19 with a return of original investments period of 2 year and 23 days. This average return of original investment will be 92%. The average return on sales will be 28%. The average gross profit ratio will be 57%. The average current ratio will be 7.7 times. The internal rate of return will be 39%. Socio-Economic Responsibility. The mushroom business will provide both intangible and tangible benefits its customers, employees, suppliers and creditors, owner, government, community, and society, and church. Conclusion. The feasibility study has been evaluated and analyzed throughly. From this, the researchers have concluded that the roposed mushroom business is feasible and viable.
