The purpose if this study was to determine the relationship of counselor characteristics to effective counseling. The following sub-problem were answered: 1. What is the profile of the respondents? 2. What are the perceptions of the administrators, teachers, and students, on couselor characteristics and effective counseling in three Seventh-day Adventist high schools in East Jva Conference, Indonesia? 3. Is there significant relationship between counselor characteristics and effective counseling based on the perception of administration, teachers, and students considering the following: a. within the same high school? b. among the three high schools?
