In the Philippines it is said that what is history today was the controversial rumor of yesterday, this especially true of the old Spanish buildings of the nation. being witness to centuries at a time, and often having been put through conflict and strife, it is not far fetched to assume the old brick and stone walls have been present to events un heard and untold. One such building is the Our Lady of Atocha Parish, and it is said that significant and special among its sister churches for being unfinished. This study has been conducted to answer this questions and to reconstruct a clearer picture of the history of Our Lady of Atocha. The study utilizes the historical school of theory known as the Annales and conflict theory to interpret context for information gathered and events chronicled by this study. The information used by this study was synthesized by reviews of literature, studying archives, by observation of archival information and conducting interviews of individuals whose lives have seen exposure to the church and its history. Based on findings and interpretation of information, recommendations have also been made both for the dissemination of information and for more research of gaps found during the study.
