Working while studying is challenging because a students needs to fulfil two roles simultaneously, but indeed, students workers gain helpful experiences and lesson to contribute to their character. Through phenomenological approach, this study attempts to explore the stories of four professionals who were former students workers in college: Mr. Miguel, Mr. Anthony, Mrs. Marie Mrs. Risa. All of them believe that their college year were enjoyable. It is evident that all of them were financially challenged that is why they choose to be working students. Since they were not granted sponsorships or scholarships from different organizations a single job was not enough to fulfil their needs, so they entered into multiple jobs. The multiple jobs that they had were enough to satisfy their academic and personal expenses. Moreover, after working while studying for many years, they learned how to manage their time wisely. They also gained the value of perseverance because they cannot achieve what they have now without the hard labors they did. Some of them became experts in practical skills like cooking, painting, and electrical works. They also believe that they cannot have all the achievements, skills, and abilities without the guidance of God. Presently, they have a reputable career. most of the task are already easy for them since they have been doing it for years. They already have more family quality time and secured friendships. lastly, they are now financially secured and independent. from the self - determination theory, this study confirm that doing every role with willingness, self- belief, and dedication leads to a successful career.
